Father Craig Hacker, Rector

Father Craig began his tenure as Rector of St. John's Church in September, 2017.  A native of New York, he was born in Albany, and spent his first eighteen years in a small town just south of Saratoga Springs, New York.

He attended Springfield College for his undergraduate studies (where he met his wife, Linda) and went on to complete a twenty-year military career as an Army Officer, serving honorably in a variety of positions with increasing responsibility. Father Craig holds two Master Degrees. His Master's of Divinity is from Oblate School of Theology (a Roman Catholic Seminary), and his Master's of Community Leadership is from Central Michigan University.

Linda and Craig have been married for over forty-three years and have two children and four grandchildren. Their daughter, Allison, is a high school English teacher, and their son, Matthew, is a Lutheran minister.

Father Craig believes everybody has a faith that holds them together on a daily basis.  The image of Christ that embodies his priesthold is birth to faith...and his faith in Christ allows him to do that.  The greatest gift Father Craig believes he can offer is his ability to listen compassionately.
